Poppy Williams ‘Choose your own adventure’ is a set of 78 unique Tarot cards, inspired by the centuries-old, and widely interpreted world of Tarot iconography. 

Tarot was first documented in 15th century Italy as a trumps card game. It wasn’t until the 18th century that occult readings of Tarot were first documented. Jean-Baptiste ‘Etiella’ Alliette was the first recorded professional tarot occultist who published his ideas around the correspondence between tarot, astrology, the four elements and Humorism. Etiella revised his own occult version of tarot which was widely adopted, with the card meanings still used to this day by those performing card divination.

“My family has always kept a deck of cards nearby which might explain why tarot has always been so appealing to me. The mix of ancient symbols, and the ever-evolving interpretations of the cards inspired me to create my own deck.”

Each of the 78 cards explores the correlation between traditional Tarot imagery and divination. Regardless of your belief system, a Tarot reading is an opportunity to explore and illuminate the subconscious, offering a space for reflection, introspection and contemplation.
