Zephyr Larkin is a relief printmaker working on large format and multi block linoleum prints in the country of the Dharug and Gundungurra peoples, Blue Mountains. This series was printed on a 1963 Eickhoff letter press with black and grey oil based ink. The series of fourteen are split into two halves; the first seven are based on dreams from the past year and last seven are based on the concepts they expressed. 'I want to move away from trying to make sense of them on a personal level, rather listen to the story that relates to all of us'. Influenced by Art Nouveau, Greek and Islamic design, Western philosophy and psychology and the memory of dreams. Spiritual Mechanical Geological is a mantra made up of the reflective nature of the practice, the environment of order and mechanical repetition, and the myths and stories we learn from.
