'Burning Beautiful' is Daniel R. Watkins aka Rad Dan current exhibition based on a fascination with popular culture, intersected with Australiana and obscure iconography.
A form of neo-expressionistic nostalgia.
The mixed media work, primarily focuses on the placement and application of mediums. From the early stages of the artworks creation, to later covering with block colours and text in a repetitive form; the artwork presents a non-linear narrative, disregarding time and place.
Born 1987, and raised with a surrealist painter father, Watkins is a practising artist, art director and carpenter based in Sydneys Northern Beaches.
Having exhibited in the USA, Europe, Japan, Indonesia and Australia, 'Burning Beautiful' is Rad Dan's third exhibition with China Heights.
