The ‘Welcome to Hell’ series by James Thomas digs a little into the subversive New York institution of The Chelsea Hotel; a melting pot of poets, artists and musicians. Taking inspiration from the late 70’s era of punk, overdoses, violence and murder, the works depict the honest side of Chelsea's patrons during that time - strung out and living by the skin of their teeth.

Thomas, known in the art world as SpiderXdeath, dived into Chelsea legends now dead and gone, creating faux newspaper headlines depicting their deaths and presenting events that may or may not have been.
